Audiowalk and Live-Performance by Tim Shaw, ca. 30 minutes

In Ambulation Tim Shaw collects acoustic and electromagnetic signals from the immediate environment and transmits them to audience members who are each wearing wireless headphones. Ambulation engages with the act of recording as an improvised performance in response to the soundscapes it is presented within. It adapts field recording equipment and listening technologies to explore the sonic quality of different environments through an expanded performance practice. 

This walk at SONOHR is a collaboration with Wild Museum.

Aus für das menschliche Ohr hörbaren und unhörbaren Umgebungsgeräuschen entsteht in Ambulation eine wunderbar eigene Performance, die von den Zuhörenden «erspaziert» werden kann. Tim Shaw sammelt live akustische und elektromagnetische Signale aus der unmittelbaren Umgebung und überträgt sie auf die Funkkopfhörer des Publikums. Ambulation versteht den Akt des Aufnehmens als improvisierte, musikalische Performance, die auf die Klanglandschaften reagiert, in denen sie präsentiert wird. So wird aus einem alltäglich anmutenden Spaziergang ein poetisches und musikalisches Erlebnis, das eine konkrete, dokumentarisch erfasste, wie auch eine künstlerisch angereicherte Realität erklingen lässt.

Dieser Spaziergang am SONOHR findet in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Wild Museum statt.
