Red of Visibility
Short piece (EN) by Phoebe McIndoe, 10 minutes

Growing up, Phoebe went to a catholic primary school where the school emblem and colour was red. The school had a visiting doctor who would see the pupils in the head mistress’ study without their red uniforms on. In this red space Phoebe had her first experience of ‘bad touch’. Or as she now calls it, sexual assault. This piece is an attempt, years later, to explore and reclaim the colour red.

Phoebe McIndoe is an award-winning radio journalist and sound artist and the founder of Small Audio Art, a playground for creative makers to connect, create and share feedback. Her recent series County Lines (BBC 4) was Amnesty & BJA nominated and won silver at the ARIAs. She has worked as a producer with BBC’s Woman’s Hour, The Guardian’s Today In Focus, The World Service and charities like NSPCC – to tell survivor-led documentaries, such as Endemic Truth.

BLT

Dying is Fine, but Death…
Short piece (EN) by Daniel Ottini, 13 minutes

Though often unspoken, death is simultaneously a natural cycle, unfolding as the inevitable result of our birth, and an “artificial” one, marked by dispassionate medical and legal definitions which are devoid of spiritual or poetic meaning.
Using alternating field recordings of cemetery and mausoleum spaces, fragments of speech from an end‑of‑life nurse, and an anchoring drone derived from those recordings, the piece interrogates listeners’ perspectives on a topic seldom externalized and creates space for self‑reflection and contemplation.

Daniel Ottini is a Canadian sound artist, field recordist, sound designer, and electronic musician whose work focuses on seeking deeper truths about human emotion and experience using sound as a medium of inquiry and expression. His Sound Art practice currently utilizes documentary audio, field recordings, electronic textures, and spatial sound, to probe (and engage) the listener’s perspective in an immersive but non-didactic manner.

Spa of Doubts
Short piece (EN) by Avery H. Thompson, 5 minutes

Spa of Doubts reflects how insecurities and anxieties follow us everywhere—even into the calmest of spaces. Developed at the ecoSuites Artist Residency in Halkidiki, Greece, Spa of Doubts emerged from the sense of trust and vulnerability that Avery H. Thompson experienced with his fellow artists. Original score by Joshua Peschke and Kotoe Karasawa.

Avery H. Thompson is a poet and audio producer who splits his time between Texas and Greece. His new podcast is called TINYgods.
