Radio Limbo celebrates radio as a portal to other realities and unusual characters. A darkly playful radio cabaret, the show parodies and reimagines established media through a mix of original material and recycled audio plunder. Hosted and produced by Pete Hazell, listeners are taken on a journey through collage, audio curiosities, music, disembodied voices, and imaginary soundscapes. Psychedelic, entertaining, and at times unnerving, the show embraces radio as a shape-shifting vessel for exploring theatrical, subversive, and surreal worlds.
Pete Hazell is a music and radio artist from Bristol, UK, who has spent the past 20 years engaged with underground music and community radio. In 2017, after many years DJing and producing, he co-founded the cassette label Limbo Tapes and a year later began Radio Limbo as a monthly residency on Bristol’s Noods Radio. The show remains a workshop for his practice and a showcase of new music releases. Pete is now bringing Radio Limbo to live audiences and is working on a second series of his experimental fiction podcast Limbo Calling.

Radio Limbo célèbre la radio, portail vers d’autres réalités, vers des personnages insolites. Une émission de variété radiophonique à la fois grinçante et enjouée, parodie des médias établis, qui les revisite en mêlant matériau d’origine et trouvailles audio. Pete Hazell emmène ses auditeur·rice·s dans une chevauchée endiablée, entre collages, curiosités acoustiques, musique, voix désincarnées et paysages sonores imaginaires. Psychédélique, divertissante, dansant tel un feu follet, la pièce utilise la radio comme un médium changeant, pour mieux explorer les univers subversifs et surréalistes.
