Printmaking in Oaxaca and Veracruz, México - Workshops, Networks, Opportunities for Collaboration

This online event offers an introduction to the history and current practice of printmaking in Oaxaca and presents a selection of workshops and institutions, including Taller Tamayo, La Buena Impresión, Taller Gráfica A Sangre in Oaxaca, and La Ceiba in Veracruz. Central to the event is the question of what role printmaking plays in these contexts as an artistic, technical, and collaborative practice, and what differences and points of contact emerge in comparison to the situation in Germany.

The event is aimed at artists in Germany with an interest in international collaboration, workshop practice, and printmaking networks. The aim is not only to provide an art-historical and institutional overview, but also to offer concrete starting points for potential collaborations: What are the profiles of the featured spaces, what forms of collaboration are conceivable there, and what conditions, opportunities, and differences should be taken into account?

The online event is presented by Stefan Tielscher and Xavier Scherenberg and brings together contextual knowledge, workshop portraits, and experiential knowledge drawn from existing contacts and projects. Time for questions and exchange will be provided at the end.
