A living room, a table, and lots of chairs all around it. We’re all sitting together, a little cramped. It’s cozy.
And that’s it. Or almost. The rest of what we’re going to experience together can’t be put into words. I can, of course, tell you that to start with, I’ll sing a poem, that I’ll tell you what happened to me this morning, and that you’ll think what I’m saying is true—and then you’ll think it isn’t. But what I’m telling you is so beautiful that maybe you’ll decide to believe it.
My role as a Magician is to create memories. That’s all.
A space outside of time, a loss of balance; a small fall where, bit by bit, what we thought was Reality crumbles. It is at that moment—when we doubt our own beliefs—that the realm of possibilities opens up. Consciousness expands, and then—only then—can we feel that emotion unique to magic: the emotion of the inexplicable wonder.
My quest as a magician-artist is for the audience to let go after experiencing various emotions—frustration, fear of the unknown, or confusion—and ultimately to be transformed by the experience.
