Four artists dream of careers, glamour, and the red carpet. From casting call to casting call, they chase their big break—a role in “Vergissmeinnicht – Flammen der Liebe,” the most successful telenovela of modern times.

Finally, to be a star in the flash of cameras, finally to stand on the red carpet and no longer be behind the sales counter. But the road to fame is paved with low-paying side jobs, rejections by the dozen, and the relentless reality of everyday life. While rent presses down on them, they rehearse the grand, tear-jerking soap opera monologues at night under the pale light of the kitchen lamp. On stage, a wonderfully tragicomic competition unfolds: Everyone wants to shine, but in the end, they’re all in the same boat. Between envy and deep compassion, between sharp humor and quiet, melancholic songs, the same existential question arises again and again:

How much of a dream can real life withstand? And what remains when the spotlight fades?
